Why I want to go to Oslo
November 25, 2007
I am sure that I wouldn’t regret going to Oslo (Norway, Europe).
In fact, this is another top city in the world.
Oslo has a humid continental climate. Most of the time, summers use to be warm. By the way, it presents itself with daily high temperatures, which is something that I appreciate: something that illustrates this is that the highest temperature ever recorded was 35 °C on July 21, 1901: that really delights me, because there are days in Brasil that the temperature goes much beyond that.
Obviously, the winter is cold and wet: this season’s temperatures can drop down to -20 °C (I would love to see what that temperature feels like!).
Another criteria that classifies Oslo between the 15 top cities, is it’s crime rate, which is one of the tenth lowest in the world: I believe this must sound very good for the country, because it gets a good reputation with the rest of the world: I mean, I believe it is well seen for that.
As transports, it offers trains, sea (interesesting, no?), air, and public transports, such as buses and metro.
It also counts many institutions of higher learning, like University of Oslo, Oslo University College, Norwegian School of Management and the Norwegian School of Information Technology, just as Oslo School of Architecture and Design, and Norwegian University of Sport and Physical Education…I am charmed and excited with this, I mean, I am very suprised to see that there are over 40 higher learning schools in this city. I believe that’s too much, because in my country I can’t count more than 10 schools that offer this kind of learning!
Oslo now has over 50 schools, colleges and universities in itself alone.
It also has the “Transport and Environmental Affairs” that focuses on environmental issues. I think this is very good, because something must start do be done for our environment and Oslo is already doing that.
Finally, I would also stand the fact that Oslo city also signed agreements with the following cities/regions:
Gothenburg, Sweden
Schleswig-Holstein, Germany
Shanghai, People’s Republic of China
St.Petersburg, Russia
Vilnius, Lithuania
and Warsaw, Poland.
I also think it would be great to go to Oslo, because it offers a great diversity of things to do, such as visiting the Royal Palace, the Viking Skip Museum, the city hall, the Norwegian folk museum, the National Gallery, the University of Oslo, historical monuments. I am really keen on these kind of things, that’s why I would enjoy visiting this top city!
I think it might be a rare one!

Why I want to go to Vancouver
November 25, 2007
It would be amazing someday to go to Vancouver city, in Canada. I mean, it is the second top city in the world.
The climate of Vancouver is a moderate oceanic climate. The city is also sheltered by the mountains of Vancouver Island, to the west. These informations leed me to a thinking that these influences contribute to making Vancouver the warmest of Canada’s major cities: that gives me a really positive image of this city!
The crime rate is just as low as Melbourne’s, which is THE top city. As a result, I think that it must be great to live there, mainly because of the security that must exist there, right?
On what concerns transports, it offers bus service, sky train, west coast express, seabus, cycling, airports, rails, ferries, taxicabs…This is pretty interesesting, because it really strikes my attention the fact of having this big variety.
It has an exemplar education, with Elementary schools, High schools, “stubs”, universities(for an example, Vancouver University Worldwide, which I would personally say that it is just as good as great American universities).
It also focuses on the environment with forests care, raincoast conservation, fondations like GreenPeace, EcoForestry Institute, and lots of environmental issues that the government takes care of. I see this as a positive thing, since Oslo’s government is thinking about the future!
Also, the city is the second largest in Canada with a high percentage of visible minority and immigrant populations. In 2001, half of the city’s total population was of visible minority background.
The three most numerous groups of recent immigrants are of Chinese, Filipino and Indian origin. I really appreciate this mix of cultures. In addition to this, I would say that it shows the results of globalization, it helps to bring the world together.
The people of Vancouver also speak a multitude of languages. I enjoy this fact, for the reason that I am very interested on languages.
In my opinion, I would also enjoy more than anything going to Vancouver, because of it’s touristics activities and things to do, that really atract me: there are the featured arts and activities (Vancouver has an endless supply of things to see and do) , IMAX theatre at Canada Place, Prince of Wales whale watching, Vancouver aquarium, harbor cruises and events (Vancouver’s best sightseeing, dining and special event cruises), grouse montain, and Vancouver art gallery. I am really excited for knowing these things!!! I really wanna go there for this reason!…
…Top city, right?

Why I want to go to Melbourne
November 25, 2007
I would really like to visit Melbourne City, located in Australia (Oceania), because this is the top city in the world. As a result of this, I think that I would be amazed with what this city offers!
It’s got an oceanic climate, notable for its changeable weather conditions. Besides that, it’s crime rate is considered as very low, which I classify as something very good, because of the assured security. Also, it offers diverses ways of transport, like trams, suburban rails, bus, taxis, long distance rails, airports, roads, cycling, sea… We may think then that traffic might me rare in this city.
Education is another good thing that I believe must be great in Melbourne: the city is home to some of the nation’s oldest educational institutions, including the oldest Law, Engineering, Medical, Dental and Music schools, all at the University of Melbourne. The University of Melbourne is also the oldest university in Victoria and the second oldest university in Australia. Also, it is member of the Group of Eight. In my opinion, this fact really stands Melbourne out, right? Besides that, Melbourne University ranked second among Australian universities: in my thinking, this is a real example for other cities (every city should invest on education!).
Melbourne has many projects that focus on environnement, just as diverses culture and events: the top city of the world is known as an Australian cultural and sport capital. The city celebrates a wide variety of annual cultural events, performing arts and architecture. Melbourne is also considered to be Australia’s live music capital with a large proportion of successful Australian artists.
It’s diversity is another interesting thing about this city : it has a lot of languages, and religions (as examples), such as catholicism, anglicanism, greek orthodoxy / English, Italian… This mix of cultures make me really happy, as I am a “cosmopolit lover”, and, in fact, Melbourne seems to be a cosmopolitan city, following the example of the Big Apple.
The city also has “connections with the rest of the world”: Melbourne has six sister cities. They are Osaka, Tianjin, Thessaloniki, Boston, Saint Petersburg, Milan.
On a personal view, it would also be awesome to go to Melbourne, because there are lots of things that I think interesting in there, like melbourne zoo, a great ocean explorer tour, Melbourne cricket ground, queen victoria market, highpoint shopping center, the Luna Park, Melbourne museum and aquarium, panaromic views, beaches, architectural splendor, and a variety cuisines from all around the world! Also, there is an art center in the city known in the entire world. I am really on fire about Melbourne!!
Concerning health, Melbourne counts 30 public hospitals in this metropolitan region, and 13 health services organisations.
Great city, ain’t it?!

Why I admire J. K. Rowling
August 27, 2007
I really admire J. K. Rowling, because she was the only person in the world whose books I have read: in fact, she is a great author. Besides that, she has a prodigious imagination and I consider her one of the best writers ever because she managed to make me finish reading a book in English, which is not my mother tongue.
I really admire her, and I’d love to meet her, so that I can ask her some questions about Harry Potter.
Drought and global warming

As you can see, this is a calendary poster that illustrates what’s happenning to our planet: in fact, global warming is completely destroying it (with human collaboration!). People are not even preocupated with this serious problem: “it’s no longer a doomsday prophecy, it’s a reality.”, so that’s why I decided to make this poster: the intention of doing it is to “wake up” people, and also to mobilise them to do something. People think these kind of things will never happen, but they are here, just outside the windows! The photo shows it! It’s a reality!
Wake up, people! Our planet is taking a risk.
Be a soccer player

For you to become a great soccer player and be the Ronaldinho of the future, you will have to do some hard work.
You must have a lot of dedication.
With the time, you improve your skills and make beautiful things with the ball that should enchant people!
As I said, training and determination are fundamental!

In this photo, what strikes my attention is the bright light coming from the sky, because it illuminates the whole beach. We can also see a river next to the beach, which is deserted.
There are many trees and mountains. I really enjoy this picture because of the light and also because of the feelings and memories I have when I see it. It transmits peace and tranquility which, in my opinion, is very good!
My brother
February 8, 2007
Heyy…
In this post I am gonna talk about my brother.
Unfortunnately, he is spending six months in Israel. And because of that I have been being so sad during the last weeks. He is the most amazing guy I have ever known.
But why am I so sad, you may think?
1 – He is the funniest guy ever
2 – He is my role model
3 – He entertains me the whole day
4 - He makes me laugh a lot..and when I say “a lot”..maaan,.. it’s in fact a lot
5 – He is my best friend
6 – During weekends, we go party like crazy
Well… If I had to write all the reasons I will miss him, I would spend all night here.
That’s it.
I am going.
Bye
